Alabama-native Casey Downing Jr. has completed 45 public sculptures in the cities of Mobile, Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Atlanta, Toronto, and Singapore.  His 45-year career includes dozens of solo and juried exhibitions across the Southeast, as well as Washington, D.C., and New York.  Educated at the University of South Alabama and University of Alabama at Hunstville, he has worked in a variety of figurative and abstract styles in two- and three-dimensional medias.  Among the institutional collectors of his work are the Mobile Museum of Art, the Mitchell Corporation, the Alabama State Arts Council, Alabama Power, the University of South Alabama, the University of Mobile, the University of Alabama Birmingham, and the Retirement Systems of Alabama.  Mr. Downing has reconverted a century-old warehouse in downtown Mobile for his residence, studio, and workshop.
